Challenge Series Test & Tune

Today marked an exciting pre-season moment at Calabogie Motorsports Park as we hosted the Challenge Series Test & Tune Day. Teams from the Miata Challenge, Libre Series, and GT & PT Series filled the paddock to get their cars and setups dialed in ahead of the 2025 racing season.

Throughout the day, drivers and crews took full advantage of open track time to work on:

  • Suspension setups — fine-tuning handling balance, cornering response, and ride quality
  • Brake testing — ensuring stopping power is reliable and consistent under race conditions
  • Engine shakedowns — verifying performance, throttle response, and drivability
  • Safety gear checks — making sure harnesses, seats, extinguishers, and other critical equipment are in proper operation
  • Driver prep — giving racers a chance to reconnect with the track, sharpen skills, and practice race starts

These test sessions are essential — providing teams the opportunity to work out any mechanical or setup issues before the intensity of race weekends kicks off.

What is the Challenge Series?

The Calabogie Challenge Series is a multi-class championship featuring:

  • Miata Challenge – Close, spec racing known for tight, wheel-to-wheel battles
  • Libre Series – Open-class racing with a variety of builds and driver experience levels
  • GT & PT Series – High-performance sports cars and purpose-built race machines.
    • Fun fact: The PT (Production Touring) Series also includes TA2 cars — serious machines with big V8 power and styling reminiscent of NASCAR stock cars. These beasts bring thunder to the track with their raw speed and aggressive presence.

And the best part — spectator admission is free. That’s right — anyone can come watch these incredible race weekends and experience grassroots and semi-pro racing up close.
