Training the Next Generation of HPDE Coaches
Today marked an exciting milestone — the first on-track day of 2025 here at Calabogie Motorsports Park! We were proud to host the Motorsports Safety Foundation (MSF) Level Two program, bringing together experienced instructors and aspiring coaches for a full day of classroom learning and on-track training.
What is the MSF Level Two Program?
The MSF Level Two program is designed to train and certify coaches for High Performance Driving Events (HPDE). These programs are conducted by HPDE organizations whose training systems have been certified by MSF.
It combines:
- Classroom discussions on coaching techniques, safety, and communication.
- On-track role-playing, where seasoned instructors act as students, allowing candidates to practice their coaching skills in real-time scenarios.
Why It Matters:
Programs like this are critical to maintaining safe, effective, and fun HPDE events. Coaches play a huge role in guiding new drivers, building confidence, and ensuring everyone gets the most out of their track experience — safely.
Our First Track Day of the Season!
Not only was this a valuable training event, but it also marked our official start to the 2025 track season! There’s nothing like the sound of engines echoing through the hills to kick off a new year of motorsports at Calabogie.
Looking Ahead:
We’re excited to welcome this next wave of certified HPDE coaches to future events — including our Novice Days, HPDE sessions, and Track Nights. Here’s to a safe, fast, and adrenaline-packed season ahead.
