Investing in the Future of Calabogie Motorsports Park

For twenty years, the asphalt at Calabogie Motorsports Park has been the foundation of countless memories, podium finishes, and adrenaline-fueled weekends. As we look toward the next two decades, we aren’t just maintaining that foundation; we are completely transforming it.
A First for Canada: The SMA Revolution. This spring, Calabogie is undergoing a historic, full-track repaving. We have selected the Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) process, the highest-quality paving standard in the world. While common on the most elite European circuits, this will be a first for a race track in Canada and one of only a handful of such facilities in North America.
Our original surface served us faithfully for 20 years without a single crack or patch. This new, world-class SMA surface is engineered to last 25 years and beyond, ensuring Calabogie remains the premier motorsports destination for a whole new generation.
Respecting the Process. To achieve a surface of this calibre, precision is everything. We are navigating two factors that require absolute patience:
- The Thaw: Paving cannot begin until the frost is entirely out of the ground, a process that requires a sustained string of warm, sunny Ontario spring days.
- The Cure: Once laid, this specialized surface requires a strict 14-day curing window with zero vehicle traffic to ensure the density and grip levels are perfected.
An Update on Our Season Opener: Because we are committed to doing this right, we have worked closely with our partners to adjust our calendar. We are pleased to announce the following updates to our spring schedule:
- ASE / Perry Performance Academy: Originally scheduled for early May, this event has been successfully rescheduled to May 23–24.
- Pro6 Cycle TRAC School: To ensure the best possible experience on the new surface, the Pro6 TRAC school session originally set for May 23–24 will be amalgamated into a massive double-header weekend on May 30–31.
We hold our partnerships with Perry Performance and Pro6 Cycle in the highest regard and thank them for their flexibility. The wait will be worth every second once you feel the grip of that fresh SMA surface for the first time.
